#PolyCon19: An Inside Look of This Year’s Professional Development Courses
The following blog is a segment of a five-part series
regarding the Center for Polyurethanes Industry’s (CPI) 62nd Annual
Polyurethanes Technical Conference.
This October, CPI will once again offer its Polyurethanes
Professional Development Program (PDP) in conjunction with the Polyurethanes
Technical Conference. The PDP provides unique opportunities for
participants to increase industry knowledge with a variety of educational and
training courses. The courses are taught by subject matter experts from the
industry and are a great opportunity to learn and connect with leaders across
the value chain.
We took an inside look at two of the program’s staples that provide
value to participants year after year: PU 100 and PU 101.
Professional Development Program
Highlights: PU 100 and PU 101
Whether you’re an industry newcomer or looking to brush up on your
polyurethane knowledge, the PU 100 and PU 101 courses are right for you.
PU 100: Introduction to the Polyurethane Industry (Sunday, Oct. 6, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.)presents
the discovery and progression of polyurethanes throughout the years since its
creation and examines the evolution of polyurethane products throughout the
value chain. This course provides an in-depth examination of the basic
principles of polyurethane formulation and the process equipment involved in manufacturing
polyurethanes, as well as information on basic mixing technology. PU 101:Polyurethane
Chemistry (Sunday, Oct. 6, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.) provides
an in-depth look into the background and technical details of polyurethane
chemistry. The course begins with the history of polyurethanes, a chemistry
overview and a review of important definitions and terms that will lay the
foundation to get started. From there, the course will focus on polyurethane
chemistry and reactions, coreactants, formulating components, testing
parameters, market applications and equipment.
Insight
from An Expert
We asked Lee Salamone, Senior Director of CPI, what industry
professionals should know about the PDP:
“CPI is committed to advancing the industry, and education is key.
That’s why we call upon the best experts in the field to share their knowledge
on a wide range of polyurethane topics. Sharing ideas and learning from each
other doesn’t just benefit individuals, it also increases our collective
knowledge and makes our industry stronger. The program’s quality of information
and excellence in instruction keeps participants coming back year after year.”
Don’t
Forget…
Keep checking back for more insight like this from Lee and other
conference stakeholders as we review more PDP courses. But for those who
haven’t yet locked in their plans to attend this year’s conference, here are a
couple of closing reminders:
- Registration
is now open! Don’t miss out on our early
bird rate which ends September 6th. - Sponsorship
opportunities are still available. Learn how you can showcase your
company’s brand at #PolyCon19. - And don’t miss your chance to join the myriad
companies displaying their latest products and innovations at the Table Top
Exhibition.
