Professional Development Program Courses Focus on Polyurethane Raw Materials and Physical Testing

The following blog is the
final segment of a five-part series regarding the Center for the Polyurethanes
Industry’s (CPI) 62nd Annual Polyurethanes Technical Conference.

The 2019 Polyurethanes Technical Conference kicks off Monday
in Orlando, Fla. As the longest-running polyurethanes conference in North
America, close to 1,000 attendees will gather to explore table top exhibits,
network with other professionals, and learn from the conference’s Professional
Development Program (PDP).

Today’s blog highlights two PDP courses that examine the
different properties of polyurethane raw materials and the physical testing of polyurethane
foams.

PU 201: Polyurethane Raw Materials,
Testing, Specifications and Performance: The Myth and the Magic
(Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to 1
p.m.) will dive into the essential topic of demystifying polyurethane raw
material testing, specifications and performance standards. This course will
also examine isocyanates and polyols, as well as the various testing methods.

PU 204: Physical Testing of Polyurethane
Foams
(Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) will take a deeper look
into the physical testing of polyurethane foam, including individual test
methods, types of standards and testing jargon. It will also provide resources
for using and understanding the data derived from physical testing of
polyurethane foam.

Insight from an Expert:

We asked Lee Salamone, Senior Director of CPI, what industry
professionals should know about the PDP:

“In addition to PDP attendees learning about the
history, market and trends of polyurethane, these courses focusing on the raw
materials and physical testing provide even more insight on the manufacture of
these materials, their capabilities, and help address remaining questions.”
